BAPTISM CELEBRATIONS
AT CROSSLINK
Baptism is an outward symbol that a person has
entered into a relationship with Jesus Christ. It symbolizes what
has taken place inwardly at the time of our salvation.
We immerse
at Crosslink because we believe scripture shows
that Jesus modeled that for us as the mode for our profession of
faith in Him.
The Importance of Baptism
We are baptized to follow the example set by
Jesus as in Mark 1:9.
We are baptized because Christ demands it as
in Matthew 28:19-20.
We are baptized because it demonstrates that we are believers as
in Acts 18:8.
The Meaning of Baptism
It illustrates Christ's burial and resurrection
as in I Corinthians 1:3-4 and Colossians 2:12.
It illustrates our life as a Christian as in II Corinthians 5:17
and Romans 6:4.
- Baptism does not make you a believer; it shows you already
believe.
- Baptism does not save you, only your faith in Christ does
that.
- Baptism is like a wedding ring; it's the outward symbol of
the commitment you made in your heart.
Who Should
be Baptized
Every person of age who has believed in
Christ as in Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12 and Acts 8:13.
When Should Someone be Baptized?
As soon as they have believed as in Acts 2:41
and Acts 8:3-38.
The Baptism Process at Crosslink
How do I get baptized?
- Register by calling 919.304.0600.
- All those being baptized are asked to share their testimony
in a short video interview.
The 1-2 minute video will
be shown during one of the services leading up to the day of
your baptism. Baptism is a public profession of
faith. Showing a video of your testimony allows you to share
your story in a concise and powerful way with the
congregation.
- When you register for baptism, you will receive information
via email or mail about the logistics for the day of
your baptism as well as information regarding the video interview
process and scheduling.
What should I wear?
Women should wear shorts and a dark colored
top with a swimsuit underneath. Men should wear a swimsuit or
shorts and a shirt. A staff member may be taking photos or filming
the event so be sure you're comfortable with the
clothes you choose to wear.
Bring the following with you on the
day of baptism:
- A change of clothes
- Two towels
- A plastic bag for your wet clothes
